When I first seen this advert I was mad, part of me was outraged, at first, and then I thought hmmmm look at the nonsense the BBC and Nigel Farage has been spouting out in recent weeks and on the anniversary of its beginning. In some cases glorifying war or saying that the biggest mistake of the war, was not the war, but the peace, nothing even to do with the disgusting treaty of versailles. And then I also thought their company name is not actually all over it and they did it with the help of the Royal British Legion. Coincidentally I had also been reading up on the truces that were called . Both governments at the time tried to censor the storys and they were not limited to this one event. Truces were being called all over the lines. Luckily censorship was in its infancy and the story has managed to survive. It appears at the time the British and Germans really did not want to fight each other, they had just exited hundreds of years of successfully working together. To kick start the war on a hell of a lot of lines they had to rotate the troops, in some cases bring in elite Prussian or Elite Scots to kick it off. When one truce failed, because elite Prusian troops shot an approaching Brit, Saxon troops actually turned on the Prussian troops. Germans killing Germans for killing a Brit. The whole war was madness. In the end Im just glad the story is still getting out. In defiance of both the 1914 British and German governments. I think in light of the dreadful BBC coverage I can forgive them.
