When I get my bachelors degree, I will be able to apply for jobs - TopicsExpress

When I get my bachelors degree, I will be able to apply for jobs that will pay enough for me to start living a middle class lifestyle. That being said, If I were able to take my potential annual salary and save every penny of it, it would take about twelve and a half years for me to accrue a million dollars. To put it in perspective, here are some numbers- Time it would take to make as much as______ makes in a year: a NASA Engineer/Scientist: 0.7 years (yikes) a Cop: 0.8 years a Commercial Real Estate Agent: 1.2 years (when times are good) a Petroleum Engineer (working on oil rigs): 1.7 years a US Senator: 2.5 years an NHL Referee: 2.5 years Obama (presidential salary): 5 years a Neuro Surgeon: 9.5 years a Major League Baseball Player: 40 years Lebron James: 238 years So how long would it take me to amass the required wealth to be considered for the Forbes list of wealthiest Americans? Lets look at some more numbers- Time it would take to accrue a net worth equal to_____: The poorest rich guy on the list: 16,250 years Google Man (in my head hes a super hero): 311,250 years Any of the Waltons (Wal-Mart): 425,000 years I will never be a billionaire and I dont think I would like to be, but that isnt what I am getting at. As more people are added to Forbes list every year, more of our society is pushed towards the opposite end of the spectrum. This short video does a great job at explaining how imbalanced the whole situation really is. Regardless of who you vote for, what kind of beer you drink or how much you hate the new Arcade Fire record, I hope you see that there is a problem with this. youtu.be/QPKKQnijnsM
