When I left college I was bitter with the Zimbabwe Broadcasting - TopicsExpress

When I left college I was bitter with the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) for not offering me a job on the back of my being a former student leader who had led several anti-government demonstrations. When I reflect back, I thank God. I cant imagine what would have become of me? Would I have joined the gravy train, got a farm somewhere and be moving around with a gun like Rueben Barwe to protect myself from angry MDC activists? Would I be reading scripts like His Excellency, The President, The Head of State and Government, Commander in Chief of the Defence Forces and Chancellor of all State Universities? Would I, like Supa Mandiwanzira and Makhosini Hlongwane have made the transition and become a Zanu PF MP? In a country with high unemployment, I have learnt never to judge people too harshly. There are a lot of good people who work in the State Media and all they want to do is feed their families just like you and me. They have no power over editorial decisions. I speak to some of them and know first hand the challenges they face from this group of political vampires called Zanu PF.
