When I see wonderful fathers like him my heart breaks tremendously for what is happening in Ferguson, for what has been happening to black men for years in North America and around the world that we have constantly overlooked. The police brutality, deprecating stereotypes and racist mindsets, its no wonder that almost 40% of black males in North America are in prison and they make up 12-13% of the united states. We have nurtured the belief and the environment that this is who they are ( aggressive, mean, gang rolling, drug pushing, angry killers who just want to cheat the system) and most of them have believed it causing millions of lives to be destroyed and killed. Why is it so difficult to celebrate a black man....why is it so difficult for them to be acknowledged. Why is it that we believe a single story and ignore the millions of stories that run contrary to this stereotypes. Not every black man is innocent but why do we persecute and group the innocent ones in the same category. And despite their innocence no human being should be treated this way... no human being should be subjected to this brutality. They are already guilty before their case is assessed, it is infuriating and frustrating . It is not okay for this injustice to continue, it is not okay for this hate to be constantly ignored.
