When I started we didnt have a cell phone or GPS ....we never heard of a WiFi signal or an Internet... When I started we didnt have smart marks or shoot interviews,.. there was no Myspace or Facebook to promote your shows.... When I started only the chosen few were allowed to do what we did.... you couldnt read about what to say or how its done.... When I started you nailed posters to a phone pole, passed out flyers on street corners and at the local grocery and hardware stores.... When i started it was by acceptance from the veterans not cause I rented the local Armory and a ring.....back then it took 4-6 weeks to get posters from Tribune Showprint not just any idiot with a computer could make one.... When I started I helped set up the ring, sold concessions, and worked my way up to carrying the robes to the dressing room...back then things were very different..... When I started Blackjack Mulligan would fight Greg Valentine and the blood would flow....you would hear the roar of the people and you would know....this was real not some show... Back then you wouldnt see a new World Champion crowned in the Armory and then see him with his wife and kids in the grocery store the following night... I started in a different time in what seems a lifetime ago....there was honor and respect...there was right and wrong...it was a brotherhood of the chosen and accepted....back when I started.....WOW...I guess that was a long time ago.....
