When I take classes I obviously enjoy myself. And as long as students understand that humour can be a part of taking something seriously then classes roll on very well and every one not only has a great time but they also learn a lot. Its when students associate humour for a lack of caring or seriousness on the subject that their learning can become impaired. I choose to teach the way I do because I have seen the amazing benefits it can produce with students. I am personally quite capable of being too serious, too critical and too much of the perfectionist. And this is fine for those teachers who choose this way. But for myself I enjoy the idea of a class filled with humour while focusing seriously on a subject so as to get the best absorption of the material. So have a try.
