When I walked in to ICU to see Diddy this morning, the first thing he said to me was thank you. Yesterday morning when we were waiting on the ambulance, I was sitting with him while mama got everything together and all I could do was pray. I kept thinking, do I tell him how much I love him, do I tell him how proud I am to be his daughter, what do I say but all I could do was cry out to The Lord. The Lord has spared my Dads life yet again. Yesterday, he had his 3rd heart attack, his 10th stent placed, he has had quadruple bypass surgery and he has been on dialysis for kidney failure since November. But my Dad is a survivor, a fighter. His father abandoned him, his mother and his 6 week old sister when he was 3 years old. He was 8 years old when he got his first job cutting grass and having a paper route. He worked 3rd shift most of my childhood to provide for our family. By the time I was in my 20s, he owned his own business and had a thriving hardwood flooring business. God spared his life yet again yesterday, his fight is not over. His legacy continues to be made. And as I said yesterday in my cry to The Lord, we give YOU, God, all the glory.
