When I was a young hotshot reporter and anchor in Palm Beach County, Burt Reynolds, his family, and his team were very helpful to me, introducing me to dozens of celebrities, and I will always be grateful. He was generous to a fault, so its very sad to see him fall on hard times. Many dont realize he went into acting after a near-fatal car crash ended his football career. Hes been plagued with subsequent injuries and chronic pain.
