When I was visiting in Sioux valley Manitoba Canada , I got to meet an fluent Dakota speaking elder, we talk Dakota at inipi and he told me a lot of awesome information about us Dakota-Lakota-nakoda. People , he said we were all Dakota Oyate before Europians came , we are all the same Oyate. We have a lot of prophecies to share he said , stories that need to told so we as Oyate will understand whats going on with unci maka and the weather and the Oyate he said, he was very comical full of humor. He would tell jokes in Dakota . He said he noticed I spoke with all the dialects L/D/N... I was kidding to him I said I was inter- tribal. Ha ha. We laughed. Unkiha pi do,,, hau. Just sharing . He said he doesnt know why today some say oh hes Lakota , hes Dakota , hes nakoda , that not good he said.. He said they need to listen to the fluent speakers , Im M just sharing my experiences with my visit in Sioux valley First Nations. Manitoba Canada.
