Why did Adam hide? Consider these: >Professor, I heard you coming into the classroom, and I was afraid, because I was cheating; so I hid. >Mom, I heard you walk in, and I was afraid because I was disobeying, so I hid. >Boss, I heard you in the conference room, and I was afraid, because I was late again; so I hid. >Spouse, I heard you walk in, and I was afraid, because I was being unfaithful; so I hid. >God, I heard your voice in my heart, and I was afraid because I dont want to change; so I hid. The root meaning of voice in this verse means to call aloud. Adam definitely heard God calling him, he wouldnt have hid if he didnt. Is there something wrong we are doing that God is calling out? Something that doesnt allow us to dismiss His text message to our soul? His voice we hear does not mean we are crazy; it might just mean were wrong. His voice does not mean we have to hide; it just means we need to make things right. And you can do that, today, with a prayer. Dont hide what God already knows. Everything is better when it is in the light. You will be too.
