“When You Recover” Ok, I know I have been out of pocket for a few days sick, but with God’s help I’m back on track. So, I saw somebody the other day that caused my heart to stir. In praying for this person I had a word for them and you. The word was. “When You Recover.” I know at some time I may have posted on Luke 22, the sifting of Peter, but this is what I got so it’s what I will give. I saw this person in the same boat that we all have been in from time to time, and some of us more often than others or even for longer periods of time. I saw a heavy sifting of the life. What do I mean by “Life Sifting?” When you sift something you toss it in the air to remove all of the things that you don’t want in order to make the things that you do want, to be more pure. For example some may remember the days when you would have to sift flower in order to get out things that you didn’t want to cook, if you know what I mean. In Peter’s day the wheat that farmers brought in had to be sifted by hand to remove the outer husk, or chaff, from the grain. To do this they would thrust a large Winnowing Fork into the pile and toss the wheat into the air. The Husk being lighter than the grain would catch wind and blow to the side, while the Grain fell into the pile. This sifting process went on for a while because not all of the husk would turn loose so easy. Look, I know that some of you could relate to that image. Your life has been tossed in much the same way, so I don’t have to tell you again what that feels like. The Sifting process is not the focus of this message today. The Message to day is “When You Recover.” Know This, You Shall Recover. Now Notice what Jesus told Peter that Satan Wanted. Luk 22:31 “And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:” (KJV) Now notice what Jesus told Peter that He wanted out of this. Luk 22:32 “But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith will not fail. So when you recover, strengthen the other disciples. (GW) Hey, Praise God, Jesus didn’t let us get tossed into the air to kill us or Destroy us. No, Jesus allowed it to clean us up, To remove things from our lives in order to give us the purity to be Strength to others who are “Going Through.” Look, If I want to hear somebody tell me that Im going to recover, I want it to be somebody who has Recovered!!!! I don’t know about you but that carries weight with me. I know you will recover for two reasons. 1. Because The Bible Records that has prayed for us. Read these two verses of Jesus prayer.Joh 17:15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.Joh 17:20 “Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;” Hey, Im so glad that Jesus didn’t only pray for the Apostles but for all who would come along after them. But I have another reason to tell you that you will recover. I DID!!!!!! I have been sifted so violently that I could imagine that death would sure come before the process would end, but let me tell you death didn’t come. No Recovery came!!! Let me tell you what comes next, “So when you recover, strengthen the other disciples. WOW now how good is that? You will not only recover but you will be strength for others just like you all around you. This is not your END, No this will be your beginning. You Will Recover and I am excited for you. Hang on to every Word Of God because it’s the only firm thing that remains but let me tell you this. YOU WILL RECOVER, and when You Do. Strengthen the others.!!!! God Bless You All!!!!
