When a rubber band gets old, it breaks for no reason. It just becomes kind of fragile and not so rubbery anymore. I may research how long this process takes. I will need to get a fresh bag of rubber bands from the supply closet to make sure they are all the same age. I will need a control rubber band that just sits there. I will stretch one rubber band until it breaks every two weeks. I will measure the decline of stretchability as time goes on.
