When asked whether justice was served for Trayvon Martin during tonightss Florida Governors Debate, Rick Scott responded ...I respect the system that we have in our state. I want to thank Trayvon Martins parents, because some issues we they had in Missouri, we dont have here. Scott further went on to say that he would keep the stand your ground laws that allowed George Zimmerman to walk free after murdering Trayvon Martin. Charlie Crist instead said, We need to fix stand your ground. When parents send their children off to school, or even to the corner store, they shouldn’t have to worry their child might be targeted by police or vigilantes. If this is as unacceptable to you as it is to us, use your voice to help stop them from criminalizing our communities and putting our youth in harm’s way with no accountability. On Nov. 4th, dont let the political powers that be have the last say on the issues that will impact our Black communities.
