When cruising the Internet for all things Limba-related, - TopicsExpress

When cruising the Internet for all things Limba-related, especially since the Toronto Star article, I have noticed that an overwhelming majority of people, including those who advocate for Limba staying at the zoo, tend to collectively agree that the time for Limba to be done her performances has arrived. Since we began this campaign, we have always said that the "first step" is for the zoo to stop renting her out, and then an informed and conscious decision should be made on where she lives out her remaining years. In most cases, it is more stressful for an elephant to be in a circus than in a zoo, especially one that is older than most other elephants in North America right now. We are also well aware that there is currently no sanctuary that is available to house Limba permanently at the moment. So again, our goal at this point in the process is to push the Bowmanville Zoo to stop using Limba as a money-maker and simply let her live on-site for now. Her enclosure is tiny and the climate is horrible, but this would still greatly improve her quality of life until a sanctuary has a spot for her.
