When folks ask what grade a child is in they are not asking one to boast about how smart a child is by stating what school grade level of work they can do. They are asking a general age range to determine the childs emotional and mental level. For example, a third grader doing sixth grade work is not going to be ready for social things,movies, book themes and such that an actual sixth grader does. And it looks so silly when one boasts.
