When it comes to quelling inflammation (which causes aging) , fats take on particular importance. The typical Western diet contains an abundance of omega- 6 fatty acids and not enough omega- 3 fatty acids. The former, in excess, promote inflammation , while the latter reduces it. It is important to stress that our bodies need both omega 6 and omega 3 but in the correct ratio. The key here is balance.
