When it comes to short crops, and there have been quite a few of you this year who have taken the crop, you may be wondering about your hairstyling options. At Vault Hair, we thought our last post for 2014 should be a shoutout to our pixie-haired sistas with some styling tips to add a cool fashion-forward edge to any look, the slick back, for your NYE party. # the Crop The slicked back pixie is elegant and très chic. I always think of the 80s music video, Robert Palmers Addicted to Love where the smoking hot models sported wet, slick back dos. Making your hair glossy and sleek is the final element and key behind the glam of this style. The pixie crop slick looks great with a shiny and glossy finish so gel will be your product of choice (we recommend Xcessive Refinement Serum and Xcessive Solidification Gel) to get this look right: - use a comb to part damp hair to one side. For this look, youll need to part your hair deep to one side, it should roughly line up above one of your ears, so that your bangs cascade down the front of your face at an elegant angle. - run a ten cent sized amount of refinement serum in your hands and run it though your hair. Comb it all the way through using your fingers or an actual comb - apply gel along the parting on each side - using a fine-toothed comb, smooth the product through the part outwards on each side - add more product if needed to hold securely - allow to dry. If you have short hairs along the hairline, you can use hairclips to hold in place until the gel has dried Complete with statement earrings and dramatic eye make up. # Faux hawk For a really fun, funky way to sport a pixie cut, this style gives your hair an edgier look and its perfect for a night out on the town. If you really want to turn heads use, hair chalk to add bold streaks of colour throughout your hair. This hairstyle looks great with rockstar-type attire.
