When people rob banks they go to prison. When they rob the taxpayer they get re-elected. Need I say more? As one who is old enough to collect Social Security I get a bit ticked off at politicians and media who call SS an entitlement as if it were the same as welfare. I paid into SS all my working life so now it is time I enjoy the benefits of my investment. They say SS is running out of money. If the politicians had not robbed SS for other purposes and given it to those who didnt pay in (Immigrants, illegal and other) there would be plenty of money. One of my college professors calculated that if SS taxes had been invested as an annuity with a reputable insurance company we would be collecting 2 and 1/2 times as much at retirement.
