When the ANC was in power in the Western Cape, it introduced what was then called The Social Transformation Programme (STP) in order to accelerate service delivery. As such, 27 priority areas were identified wherein service delivery via the jamboree programs would be intensified. The introduction of the STP saw for the 1st time unprecedented improvement in the delivery of basic services in this province. The ANC led govt also facilitated the establishment of the Local Youth Units within municipalities, that would champion youth interests including job opportunities in municipalities. But all this came to an end when the DA came into power in 2009. They saw no need to focus on poor communities and scrapped the STP. Lets do the right thing in 2014, VOTE ANC
