When the Citizens United case ruled that corporations are people, - TopicsExpress

When the Citizens United case ruled that corporations are people, I tried to avoid the slippery slope argument that it would lead to these new corporate people maintaining a Freedom of Religion alongside their newly acquired Freedom of Speech. This case could open the door to some very frightening business practices. As the article points out, suppose the business owner were Christian Scientist and refused to offer health insurance at all to their employees? Suppose the owners were Mormon and forbid their employees from drinking coffee or coke? Suppose you work in the entertainment industry and your boss forbids you from buying that bacon double cheeseburger at lunch because thats hardly kosher? With the enormous variety of religious beliefs out there, are we ready to give up our individual beliefs to honor those of our bosses? If you are a business owner, you MUST be able to put your own beliefs in a box and run your business as fairly as possible and with every ounce of respect possible to your employees and your customers.
