When the awakening to the pure consciousness/awareness/presence actually happens in your life , it is not simply to be chalked up as an interesting or even mystical peak experience that one can then recount, be nostalgic for as a wonderful happening in the past, or have smug bragging rights on. The realization that this consciousness has always been eternally present here and now at and as the very core of your being, then guides you through life in very practical and concrete ways with an unmistakable unction and immediacy, an inner sense of rightness or wrongness about a word, a look, an action or an attitude.. There is then a little, inner check that comes to you in the midst of the most mundane situations and circumstances and activities......It tells you what to do and what to refrain from doing, it is a kind of divine oughtness that navigates you through every situation you may encounter in your ordinary, everyday life....You may just begin to open your mouth, and the inner light quietly whispers, shhhhhhhhhh......... You may pass someone on the street and the inner light inspires and says, Smile kindly!. You may have to make a decision and the inner light shines on the process and makes the choice as clear as crystal....... In the Christian mystical Tradition this highly sensitive inner navigational system of divine light (or spiritual GPS :) ) that shines on and enlightens your every move, and look, and nuance of thought is called, Walking in the Holy Spirit! This pure consciousness/awareness/presence is indeed also known by some as, the Holy Spirit. But you may call it any number of names or even no name at all.......It will not mind one way or the other! It is very ecumenical....It is a Buddhist and a Christian, and a Jew and a Muslim, and agnostic; But it is none of these exclusively.......It is the divinity that dwells in the heart of all humanity, in the heart of every man, woman, and child that walks the earth.
