When the prophet Muhammad(peace & Blessing be upon Him) was conveying the message of Allah(Most Glorified, most High) to the people of taif, they mocked him, abuse him & threw rocks at him so much so that his shoes became soaked with blood. The prophet Muhammad(peace & blessing be upon him) made the following Dua(supplication) as he left. O Allah! I complain to You of my weakness, my scarcity of resources & my humiliation before the people. O Most Merciful of those who are merciful. O Lord of the weak & my lord too. To whom have You entrusted me? To a distant person who receives me with hostility? Or to an enemy to whom You have granted authority over my affair? So long as You are not angry with me, I do not care. Your favour is of more abundance to me. I seek refuge in the light of your face by which all darkness is dispelled & every affair of this world & the next is set right, lest Your anger or Your displeasure decend upon me. I desire Your pleasure & satisfaction until You are pleased. There is no power & no might except by You. In the course of calling people to Allah( most Glorified, most high) & his messenger( peace & Blessings upon Him) you will be face with people saying harsh words & nasty comments about Islam & about Prophet Muhammad (peace & Blessings upon Him). No matter what we may face on the streets & how many unkind words are thrown in our direction, it would never compare to what the prophet Muhammad(peace & Blessings be upon Him) & his companions ( may Allah Be pleased with them) went through. We are not seeking the pleasure of the people, rather, we are striving to achieve the pleasure of Allah the most High! May The Almighty Have mercy on us. Jummat Mubarak!
