When times get tough research shows we either fight or flight. What determines which one you do? We thought we would investigate since research also says in modern times we dont typically have a lion ready to pounce on us for its dinner...or do we? (ourselves or where we are in our consciousness and mindfulness of ourselves and the world around us) Wellness encompasses many aspects and to approach it holistically, means we need to address all of it...including our spiritual wellness. Many articles we read correlate spiritual wellness as a phenomenon linked with improving our health, recovery from injury and other fight or flight consciousness we may be experiencing. But how do you explain what we do and experience when we are not conscious. Addressing (Fight) and Avoiding (Flight) may be the psychological labels put on how we each handle any given situation (including our health and wellness) we are presented with, but after reading more you may discover there is a third approach, which would be an assertive, perspective approach where you neither fight, or flight, but simple analyze, put aside preconceived notions, knowledge or beliefs, accept, and then grow from it. It sometimes takes getting out of your comfort zone, but may be surprised how your experience with life and ALL its event changes become more exciting, more tolerable or are more positively dealt with. In turn, making your life an expression and expansion for all in the human experience to learn from( including yourself. ) The Huffington Post recently interviewed a Neurosurgeon who explains how the mind, body and spirit is all intertwined.
