When we go to the movie, we may temporarily identify with the main character, enjoy when he enjoys and sympathize when he suffers. Yet, deep inside you maintain a separation with the character. You know that "you" are separate from the movie, that the movie is not real, and hence true fear cannot engulf you with respect to the movie. Similarly, with the rise of our consciousness, our identification gradually shifts to the one that is the observer of all experiences. Whatever happens in the "screen of consciousness" , the observer remains detached from what he is observing. Right now, we are identified with the contents of the screen. When you know that you are the screen and not the movie, how can there be any more fear? For, the screen remains unchanged regardless of whatever movie plays on it.sudhirji. Shelly Aggarwal
