When you break down the individual aspects of the law — no - TopicsExpress

When you break down the individual aspects of the law — no preexisting conditions, no lifetime limits, no Medicare doughnut hole, free preventative care, and better access to contraceptives and other female reproductive health services — Americans overwhelmingly support it. It’s really just that individual mandate that pisses people off, because Americans hate being told what to do. I firmly believe that if we started paying for the premiums by sucking some money out of the Pentagon’s budget, eliminating the need for the individual mandate you’d still see hard right sociopaths who are greedy bastards and don’t want to pay any taxes, much less taxes that help sick and poor people get help grousing about it, but you’d also see the favorability numbers skyrocket overall, and that is what scares Republicans most, and why they are fighting so hard to torpedo the program before it gets to that point, which they are completely correct to assume will be the case.
