When you have corruption and dishonesty in high places it becomes - TopicsExpress

When you have corruption and dishonesty in high places it becomes difficult if not downright impossible to obtain (and subsequently implement) an effective, workable solution that avoids all the negative aspects of these people existing plans.. It is rather like sending money to third world countries that are run by corrupt governments who are power and money-hungry... The fact we are dealing with a situation that was planned and discussed a significant time ago and who (from what I can see) latched on to what they perceive as viable business opportunity and then went all-guns-blazing to promote it means they are unlikely to be open to alternative ideas/options because 1) this will not provide the monetary gain they covet and 2) they do not care enough about the animals concerned to alter their stance. The extreme measures that those who DO care are having to take unfortunately drive a further wedge between the pros and antis when in reality we all need to be singing from the same song-sheet. Therefore my thoughts over the past few days have focused on how it might be possible to discuss the alternatives with those determined to put DHP on the table because until this can be achieved the situation will remain little more than a battle of wits, as attempts are made to discredit (albeit not without good reason) those who have approached the situation in an underhand and deceitful manner. We know these people are greedy and hypocritical and we know their caring for animals is a mockery and an insult to humaneness. The only way forward I can see is if a solution can be found that yields these people the same level of income as their current (dreadful) proposals (whether we like this or not) because when money and greed is involved anything else pales into insignificance.... Therefore the solution not only has to benefit the ponies but also those hell-bent on profiting from them appearing on the table. Show them an alternative way to make money WITHOUT turning these ponies into a delicacy (shudder) and we night be in business.... (no offence intended but there are times when you have to look at things in a completely different light ... and feeding greed is not a problem for me so long as objectives are accomplished...
