When you let someone in, not only are you taking a leap of faith to love someone unconditionally but you’re also exposing your wounds, your fears and your flesh. You are essentially allowing yourself to fall without a safety net. Every little blow, sweet nothing, hurtful word or action takes its toll quite fast. As much as it may be worth it to “suffer" - everything must be mended that much more quickly.
