When you meet THE ROCK OF AGES you will normally respond one of three ways. In Romans 9:33 Paul said, As it is written: "BEHOLD, I LAY IN ZION A STUMBLING STONE AND ROCK OF OFFENSE, AND WHOEVER BELIEVES ON HIM WILL NOT BE PUT TO SHAME." (an echo of Isaiah 8:14 and Psalm 118:22). You will either stumble over Him, oblivious to who He is and what He can do, stupidly choosing your own way in life, or you will find Him offensive (like a farmer who finds a rock in a cultivated field that needs to be removed) and you will do all you can do to extricate Him from your heart, mind and future. But Peter said, "to you who believe, He is PRECIOUS." (1 Peter 2:7). He becomes the "CHIEF CORNERSTONE": the thing that determines the size, slant, shape and style of the rest of the building. (1 Peter 2:6). So you will either stumble over Him, reject Him or receive Him, exalting Him to the most prominent position of greatest value, enshrining Him in your heart: A LIVING STONE, THE CHIEF CORNERSTONE, ELECT AND PRECIOUS. Then the next step is: you become what He is LIVING STONES is a global SPIRITUAL TEMPLE in which the GLORY OF GOD abides!
