When you think of the issue of the father who murdered his daughter and then took his own life as a result, it is so sad that there are forces out there who would rather see that the Family Protection Bill does not get to Parliament. As we discuss what types of leaders should be elected to Parliament, we should also take extra care about who this country recruits into the Public Service from outside. A Bill which is purposely developed to protect lives is unlikely to make it to Parliament in the April sitting because of what appears to be incompetency and a lack of sensitivity to the voice of Solomon Islanders. Very sad!
