When youre young, you assume that your parents and grandparents will always be there. Yes, when you look at them, they seem old, but you think that every one is going to live forever, because you cant imagine living life another way. People grow older though, including you, and with that, you realize comes the natural process of aging, sickness, and death. Soon you start to wonder if they know how much you love them, if youve told them enough, if they have the same good memories of you as you do of them. You worry what theyll be around for. Will they be there when you graduate, or find the perfect job, or get married, or have kids, or whatever other amazing adventure God has for you? But you know what? None of that matters as much as the here and now. Here, today, this very second, do your loved ones know what they mean to you? More importantly than that, do they know what their souls mean to God? Its never to late to let them know. Time is always of the essence.
