Whenever you undergo an expansive state of consciousness, a state of peace, freedom, harmony... rest assured that the polar opposite will follow as part of a deeper process going on, a state of self-contraction (ego-tension). Its as if the higher you could jump off a diving board the momentum leads to a deeper dive into the water. This has been my observation in my daily life & moment by moment meditation. My intuition is that something about this play of yin/yang (expansion/contraction) is part of consciousnesss Self-Organizing process of evolution. Its like it creates ripples in a pond like in quantum physics where a droplet in a pond would be simultaneous going outward and inward at the same time and the greater the expansion of the ripple the more backlash there will be (self-contraction) as part of its hidden-harmony. This does not make the expansive states merely polar states as if they are equal to contracted states - because they are not. The expansive and transcendent states are the true view (the birds eye view) whereas the contracted/tense/backlash states are false (worms eye view). Deepak Chopra says that this is an aspect of quantum-Complementarity (yang/yang) aspect of The Deeper Reality. The Deeper Reality Is Non-Symbolic Choiceless-Awareness. It is Non-Local, Acausal, expresses Complementarity, Synchronistic, and Self-Organizing.
