Where are Linda S. Vaughan and Steve DiPatri when I need them??? My daughter Ojai Brooks is a talented freshman runner here in North Carolina who is plagued with really severe pollen allergies. The pollen allergies trigger exercise induced asthma in heavily wooded areas and /or especially humid days !!! ( Welcome to North Carolina). She was tied for 3rd in the conference pre-championship meet yesterday and with 500 meters left in the race her throat closed. A group of us had to backtrack thru the woods and found Ojai standing but unable to breathe. One hit on the inhaler and she was good as new, but by then it was too little -too late. This is the 4th such incident in 12 months......Ojai has scholarship aspirations and scholarship talent--------can anyone help???
