COLLEGE OF MEDICINE To: All Members of Staff From : Registrar Date: 7th December 2014 Ref: MC/R/1/46 CLOSURE OF COLLEGE Following the emergency meeting of the Academic Board held at the COM Guesthouse on 6th December, 2014, from 2:00 pm, it was resolved that the College should close forthwith for undergraduate programs. Take note that because of the strikes college property has been damage and flow of traffic was being interfered with along the main highways. This took place on Friday 5th December 2014. The instability continued on Saturday, 6th December, 2014 with students closing the campus main gate, refusing to allow remains to the mortuary. The student’s Union were unwilling to compromise despite Management’s offer of an olive branch with a compromise solution. This memo serves to inform you that this closure implies that no teaching takes place from Monday, 8th December , 2014. All academic staff are expected to reporting for duties and continue dispatching all other duties. Kindly note that the closure is indefinite and affects all undergraduates students only.
