Where is the cost estimate in the $50 million budget for refurbishing the 5 caissons as recommended by the McLaren inspection report on pdf page 215 of book 3? (The Archer Western refurbish proposal included it). How much will it cost to replace the aluminum canopy after hail storms? We’ve had at least 4 waterspouts in Tampa Bay so far this summer, which develop suddenly. Where are people going to take shelter? There would not be enough time to evacuate safely. The aluminum canopy soars 116.5 feet into the air. We live in the “lightning capital of the world.” What would keep visitors safe by preventing the lightning to travel down the wet poles to the promontory floor, and killing anyone standing on the wet floor? How long will it take for the corrosion to damage the canopy considering that the protective baked-on coating, which has a 50% failure rate because of flawed application of the product? How long would you sit facing west in an amphitheater in direct sunlight while the afternoon sun shines directly into your eyes? (10 am until sunset) How much use will that area get? Given the height of the canopy over the loop bridges, and the width of the canopy, is there any area that will NOT be exposed to direct sunlight, at some point during the day? Considering that the rain in Florida seldom comes straight down, is there any area of the Lens that will remain dry during a rainstorm? Where is there space for a “restaurant” at the Promontory with kitchen facilities necessary for food storage, refrigerated food storage, food preparation area, dish washing area, various equipment required by health & safety inspections, a small manager’s office, plus tables and chairs?
