Where might 150 years down a different path lead? Open to art of all styles and stories of all tones and genre, this open-call comic anthology presents a kaleidoscopic exploration of the steampunk theme. Having already featured hundreds of creators from across 6 continents, Steampunk Originals Volume 8 is set to end the run with a bang. Unlike most open-call anthologies, writers, artists, colorists, letterers, etc. may join the group independently and find others to work with through the group. Work is not assigned-- rather calls are announced as they arise, apt creators are tagged in those announcements, and those interested are introduced to one another to determine if theyre a good fit and hash out the details. Feedback and assistance is available throughout production but creators may work as autonomously as they choose. The anthology is fully non-exclusive and all comics/ properties remain creator owned. Arcana, the publisher, is launching a line of steampunk themed titles, also called Steampunk Originals, and is scouting the resulting volumes for talent and properties which connect with the audience and they feel could carry their own book/ series. Anything beyond the anthology is negotiated directly between the creators and publisher. Both new and reprint comics are welcomed.
