Where to begin? Several of you have asked about Gary and Effie Mae. Thank you for that. We left Florida on June 27 in a hurry, hoping to say Good-bye to Effie Mae, my childhood friend of 63 years (Garys doctor cleared his travel). I was sad that Effie Mae passed before we arrived, but thankful we could attend her viewing, see the family and attend her funeral on the 30th. Then on July 3, Gary had a TIA (mini-stroke) while playing with Effie Maes little 5 year old granddaughter. It was the most scary time of my life. I am thanking the Good Lord every day that it was only a mini stroke. Tomorrow (Thurs) Gary will see his Florida doctor and we will learn how to deal with all this. On July 5, I attended the most wonderful 50th year high school class reunion!! This was the original intent of the NC trip. Every surviving person in the class attended, except for two girls, as well as 5 faculty members. It was the reunion of a lifetime and I am so thankful that some difficult days worked out that I could share this time with these awesome friends of 50 years ago.
