Whether or not most atheists attempt at rational explanations for their contrarian position, at the heart of atheism there is mostly emotions. Most atheists belong to one of these groups: 1. The Ignorant Ones. The vast majority of atheists simply have not thought through anything related to Gods existence. They simply do not care and their practical atheism is reduced to a dull indifference or insulting ramblings. 2. The Angry/Hurt Ones. This group counts as members many intelligent people, however, it is not rationality what truly motivates them. They are angry because they do not want God to exist; as Hitchens once admitted.They actually dislike the idea of God. It might be an illness or an experience of loss but they are angry at God and the best way to express it is to deny Him.
