While I could not possibly say this in the article published below, I do want to state that for each step of the way - from attending the retreat - to attending a budget workshop - that each and every commissioner and town official always answered all of my questions and made information transparent to me with shaping of the Elkin budget. So many emails - many questions asked - all with answers - some I did not understand or like (but I do not publish what I personally may not like). I know I punched the Town hard at times. However, I know they expect me to stay true to how I report - "OBJECTIVELY" - and in a way I am proud of all of them for holding firm on their position. This budget may have been one of the most painful budgets in the history of Elkin.
