While I have no doubt that the National Endowment for Democracy - TopicsExpress

While I have no doubt that the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and USAID are trying to gain some advantage or edge regarding the protest in Hong Kong, there isnt anything to suggest they are actually responsible for it or initiated it in any way. One dead giveaway is the nature of the protesters....the protesters in Ukraine that were pro-European Union were actually demanding austerity and many were elements of local fascist groups. I recall interviews with the Ukranian protesters and a couple were stock brokers of all things, wearing Rolex watches. Likewise the not-so grass roots protesters in Venezuela were right wing fanatics prone to violence (as were the Ukrainian protesters). You even have that in the United States..the Tea Party protest were never truly grass roots with locations of where to gather email blasted to people who opted into Americans for Prosperity and also practically promoted by Fox News...resulting in white supremacy style capitalist fanatics...proto-fascist. This is lacking among the Hong Kong protesters who have by and large been peaceful...and their grievance is legitimate. They were promised the ability to vote for people of their own choosing, and China reneged. Wanting a tad more democracy is not a bad thing... One must look at the whole picture critically before jumping to conclusions: counterpunch.org/2014/10/06/whats-driving-the-hong-kong-protests/
