While I realize a number of the members of The Box site are not huge fans of the British Invasion. We hope youll bear with us today, as our featured song comes with a purpose. This week in 1964, The Beatles made their first appearance on the Billboard Hot 100 with I Want To Hold Your Hand. Debuting at #45 ... by its second week it was #3 ... the third week it was #1, where it remained for seven weeks. From January 18th to April 25th, 1964, the Beatles had at least one new song enter the charts, every week, except for two. In those two weeks, a song about the group entered ... My Boyfriend Got A Beatle Haircut ... and, The Boy With The Beatle Hair, plus a few others. For the week of April 4th, 1964, The Beatles controlled the entire Top 5 spots on the Hot 100, a feat that had never happened before, hasnt happened since and, more than likely will never happen again. All totaled, for the week of April 4th, the Beatles held twelve positions on the Billboard Hot 100. When the group officially disbanded in 1970, they were still releasing hit records.
