While I was driving Shay (my fifteen year old son) to school this - TopicsExpress

While I was driving Shay (my fifteen year old son) to school this morning, he said,I look at Declyns report card and I see his grades. Then I think hes going to be someone very important one day. Declyn is his thirteen year old brother, my youngest son. I asked Shay,You get that idea from his report card? Ya, because his grades are always so good. Then I said,Well, his grades are really good. But all his report card tells us is that he does well in school. Now, when I look at DECLYN, I see someone who is very important. Someone who can do amazing things and help the world be its best self. You know, Shay, I see the same thing when I look at you. Shay was quiet for a second. I guess I can do important things. Honey, the most important thing you can do is follow your passions and choose to love being you, while being kind to others. I used to think that some jobs were more important than other jobs, that some meant you were successful and others meant you were a loser. But I was so wrong! The biggest and best success is one where you love your life and comfortably share that feeling with everyone around you. So if I work with trains, and write movies, I can be important and help make the world be a great place. Shay was kinda talking to himself when he said this, but I was nodding and agreeing with volume anyway! And then I added,Anyway, Shay, you and your brothers are already important and making the world a great place! Because, you know, I am a mom!! And plus, its totally true! Hugs, smiles and love!!
