While I’m on the subject of movies, I thought it would be fun to compile a list of personal favourites. This then would be my “B” list…not necessarily movies that were critical successes, but one’s that I have watched time and again and never tired of. Some have scenes of legend, like the hilarious dinner dates with Randy Quaid and Janeane Garofalo from Bye Bye Love or Woody Allen and Dianne Wiest from Hannah and Her Sisters. The unique character interplay between John Cusack and the “Lady” Chablis in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil never ceases to amaze, and others seemingly come out of nowhere to win me over like Bella (the unexpected ending delights), Shopgirl (Claire Danes and especially Jason Schwartzman are just fantastic) and Still Breathing (one of Brendan Fraser’s best performances and the puppet show he does for the sick little girl gets me every time) 1) Amelie 2) Avalon 3) Bella 4) The Big Lebowski 5) Bye Bye Love 6) Don Juan DeMarco 7) A Fish Called Wanda 8) Frida 9) Hannah and Her Sisters 10) Hope Floats 11) Jeremiah Johnson 12) The Joy Luck Club 13) Life Is Beautiful 14) Lost In Translation 15) The Man Who Would Be King 16) Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil 17) Mr. Wonderful 18) Rushmore 19) Seven Years in Tibet 20) Shopgirl 21) Still Breathing 22) Tea with Mussolini 23) Tender Mercies 24) Tortilla Soup 25) Vera Cruz
