While Nigeria celebrates her 53rd Anniversary, I cannot but help - TopicsExpress

While Nigeria celebrates her 53rd Anniversary, I cannot but help to rethink the processes she had gone and still going through. There are much reasons to complain of the things that have failed or not working. But much more than those are things that have worked and are still working. Liken Nigeria to a 53 years old man and ask the question: has Nigeria grown in any way. I commend the efforts of past and present governments in ensuring one nation and dare the critics to enumerate the positives and negatives, then weigh on a precision scale to determine which far outweighs the other. I will say a thing today: many of the intellectuals have become critics in alliance with oppositions to speak against successive governments. The truth is the strategies they thought should be adopted are most times better off in paper/theory than in practice. Some of them have not succeeded at home managing 5 people with 1 ethnic orientation but think they know what 170 million people with over 250 ethnicity need to succeed better. My prayer is that on this 53rd independence occasion, our hearts will be opened to support the government with our intellect so that we can give even more ideas as some suggested ones fail (which are bound to). I pray that the present government will rise with impudence and determination to leave a positive landmark. I pray that all of us will work to the Nation better and not the Nation making us better. I pray that you will see yourself as an equal Nigerian to the man on the street so we can achieve a better people collectively. God bless Nigeria.
