While Spencers stay here was far too short we are thankful for two angels who made sure he was safe until destiny brought him home with us. I will be forever grateful for the kindness that Cindy Ganese showed not only for Spence and Petey but all of the thousands and thousands of wonderful old dogs guilty of nothing but getting old. I often wonder how someone could lose or misplace an older dog like Spencer. Im his medical condition it was hardly likely he would have wandered more than a yard or two - if you could get him out if the house. It angers me that humans would do that to a loyal dog who most likely spent his entire life as a loyal friend. My other hero is Faye Rooks - the volunteer who visited Spencer many times during his month plus stay at a crowded scary shelter. Volunteers are our heroes. Without Cindy and Faye Spencer would have been devoured by a system that trivializes pets in a callous thoughtless manner. Im no damn hero / Im just repulsed by thoughtless humans who would abandon wonderful companions like Spencer when he most needed them.
