While at the Cowboy Music Fest one of the entertainers and a truly long time dear friend brought me an old buffalo skull that he had and asked me if I could revive it and paint something on it for him. Several years ago at this same event he purchased one of the many painted buffalo heads that I had for sale that year. ( In fact they were all sold before I even finished getting set up) Today I spent the whole day cleaning, sanding, mending and getting the poor old fellow prepped for his new future to live on in the splendour of a meaningful painting. I am still pondering what I will paint on him, it will be special though as I talked to his spirit as I cleaned and tried to imagine what he once looked like in all his glory. A very impressive boy he was I think, his horns, though old and dirty and one had fallen off now are cleaned and oiled and I will put them back on and adorn with soft leather and beading once I have completed the main painting done. I have taken pictures so I will share them with you along the journey of restoring this old fellow for Jackson.
