While it feels nice that my gender is being celebrated, we need to acknowledge that 1. Much as we keep celebrating ourselves, we are the most abused gender! 2. We are Yin, and without the Yang, completeness does not happen 3. Men are also a gender and deserve to be respected and celebrated! 4. Chauvinism is a by product of poor upbringing - mothers have a role to play in it.. so lets not just blame the men! A lot of abuse women suffer are caused by women.... Can we start celebrating our gender by first being fair, kind and respectful of the women around us? We as a gender carry the responsibility of giving, sharing and caring... Let us embrace our role in this universe with pride and happiness. Before we demand respect and importance by celebrating such dates, let us introspect and ask ourselves, are we fundamentally being nice to our genders in the society ourselves and playing the roles the universe has bestowed upon us correctly? Truth is - only we will know... lets introspect ladies! Happy Womens Day! I hope we start celebrating Mens day too!
