While many countries are doing their best to eradicate the use of mercury, the FDA allows it in your food. Thankfully, a study has recently indicated that the deep sea superfood spirulina is a viable treatment for mercury toxicity. Researchers with the University of Rajasthan, India, say Spirulina fusiformis is able to not only protect the kidneys, but may also be able to reverse the damage done by toxic mercury.
