While my first exposure to BB King came when he had a cameo in a Fresh Prince episode long before I picked up the guitar, I saw the man for the first time when I was 16 at Massey Hall. One of the things that had an impact on me at the time was not only his ability to get so much out of so few notes, but with how he was able to strike the perfect balance between being showman and a master blues musician. Years later when I began to dive deep in the blues, it was both his Live at the Regal recording and Live in Africa performance that had a lasting impact on me musically.
