While demanding immediate release of all the youths, Hurriyat Conference said that in a run of becoming “more loyal than the king”, police have started a war against the common man and they are subjecting the people who boycotted or protested against the election drama to the worst kind of vengeance. In a statement issued to the press, hurriyat criticized the continuous and unjust detention of Baramullah Youths like Sameer Ahmad Gojri, Javaid Ahmad Gojri, Abdul Qayoom Najar, Ashiq Qadir Lone, Altaf Ahmad Gojri, Majid Ahmad, Abdul Rasheed Parray, Haroon Ahamad Shakh, Asim Amin Shakh, Imran Ahmad Najar, Adanan Rasheed, Noor-ud-din, Sajad Ahmad Khan, Suhail Amin, Asif Gul, Shariq Maqbool, Faizan Ashruf, Javaid Ahmad Dar, Shaikh Safwan and Touseef Amin and said that despite the court orders for their release, the police is reluctant to release them and are detaining them in Baramullah sub-jail, Kupwara District jail and in different police stations. Every youth has been fabricated in false cases and dozens of FIRs are registered against a single person and when anybody gets bail from the court, he is immediately charged with fresh case and rearrested within the jail premises. Hurriyat said that Jammu & Kashmir has been virtually converted into a police state and police and army are free to do anything here. Whatever they want, they do it and there is nobody to stop them. The state constitution has been deliberately suspended. Hurriyat Conference strongly condemned the detention of JKLF chief Mohammad Yaseen Malik despite he being under the treatment in the hospital and said that where such a treatment is meted out with a political leader, it can be imagined that what will be condition of a common man in these situations. No one cares for the common man and their condition goes unreported in the newspapers also. While demanding immediate release of Mohammad Yaseen Malik and all other political prisoners, Hurriyat Conference appealed all the international human rights organizations to take serious notice of the state terrorism of the state police and use their influence for the release of all the political prisoners of Kashmir.
