While watching Singapores Code of Law last night, I recalled a funny scenario in real life while i was still doing my job in uniform many years back. Ifwan Petrelli can help me with this. Scenario: High Court Case: Complainant Vs 4 Plaintiffs in a Multi Million Dollar Suit. (About S$6m dispute). Supposing both 4 of them are friends in investment partners goes wrong. Each personnel involved in the case has at least 4 lawyers each. Do your maths and it totalled up to no less than 20 lawyers. (Take Note In High Courts they are wearing their Robe.) Me and partner involved escorting accused who was serving his sentence on another count of offense while the case goes on. It was almost a month trial where our accused (inmate) only needed to be there to take the stands for a week. So the case was getting too hyped up and handled in a way, all personnels gave confident replies and answers to questiins asked in court when One of the day where it was getting too lengthy than other day, it was almost 6pm, The JUDGE stopped the session. So What happened next is literally he say... I wanna adjourned todays session, but i need to confirmed with the officers if the accused needs to get back to prison by last light. After that punchline, The JUDGE together with the Whole Lot Of Lawyers Including The Court Clerks turned and looked at me...(you can hear silenced except for body and chairs sounds moving turning at us and the JUDGE asks (or rather hinted me that he wants the session to ends that day.)... Officer, You have to bring back the accused (our inmate in custody) to reach the prison by last light? I swear he is smiling broadly at me when he asked. I may not be taking the stands neither invloved in the case, just escorting. But when i answered Yes Your Honour, he has to consume his dinner in the prison. Boomed JUST LIKE THAT !!! Court Adjourned BANGUN !!!! I swear that almost half of the room of lawyers chuckled and thanked me for that Call. LoL. They are humans after all.
